"Prayers of Rain and Wind is a concerto written for this evening's soloist Joseph Conyers, Assistant Principle Double Bass of the Philadelphia Orchestra. The piece evokes the varied days of his Savannah, GA, hometown - from the oppressive humidity "praying for rain" to the anticipation of a great storm.
